We Are Innocent
Innocence “Lost”
Oh dear One, truly, dear One. We are innocent. The only thing that happened was belief. We became believers in something other than our oneness, something other than our completeness, something other than the good inherent in us and as us.
In innocence, we had the mad idea, the mistaken idea: what if I could be something other than what I am? what if I could be something other than One? what if I could have something other than One? And this caused a glitch in our perfect program that was so wild it birthed a world, a body, and a whole realm of what appears to be material separate things in our experience.
The Illusion
This is what many masters call the grand illusion or modern day mystics call the matrix. Our madness bore a body that we believe we are locked in. And worse, the physical body is a finite vehicle with finite senses that only testifies to finiteness, furthering our belief in the world it sees. Our physical senses cannot testify to the truth of us, which is Oneness. All because of a tiny (and innocent) mad glitch in the system, we land in a world of apparent separate things. What happens in this world is we live and relive the consequences of this mad idea as experiences until we can wake up to what happened. And dear One, we can! We do, and we did. We’re just remembering it in time.
So what’s the short of what happens here: we take on ideas of being born, ideas of being pure, ideas of losing that purity (through an innumerable amount of painful ideas such as disease, poverty, war, and ultimately death), and then as believers in death and birth, we are born to do it all again. Until one day, we see—oh, I don’t have to be a believer anymore. I can step away from the finite senses. Science is now helping us here too, reporting to us that our bodies eyes don’t really see what’s there. Science is also telling us that there is only a substance it calls Consciousness and that matter is not real in any ultimate sense. The magnitude of this alone should help wake us up from the dream.
Waking Up
What we wake up to is that there is only One substance, One life, One—just as science is indicating in some way, although even it has the limitation of what it can observe. Oneness, or selfcompletness, is so together and complete that it needs nothing—let alone any ideas that are not of itself. And the only ideas it has are loving ideas. For to be anything other would set a war in itself, and this it absolutely cannot do. Oneness cannot violate itself or it would not be One. And Oneness is all it can and all it ever will be. We should be most grateful for that. This means we have just dreamt up something that in truth does not exist. And we are just waking up from that dream. So, nothing to be frightened of, only to rejoice that we have what we need to wake up.
To be what we are requires only dropping what we are not. And dropping what we are not simply requires our recognition that we don’t want the painful, separate, made ideas any more. We want the One. And only the One. For we come to know the One is the source of all the good, beauty, peace, and love we could ever want. For the One is those things. In that recognition, we start to see spiritually while here on earth. We start to know that person over there we see with the body’s eyes or that table is really the One—it’s spiritual, not material. Again, science agrees for those of us that need that kind of proof.
Waking Up: In Action
On this topic, I recently asked someone who was in the habit of projecting negative states onto their partner: when did you innocently take on this idea (the idea that having a negative emotion and giving it to another)? what did it feel like to first witness that idea? what has it been like to live it out? who would you be without it?. They easily recalled being a child and watching their parents get agitated with each other and biting with one another. You see, it wasn’t his idea in this world. And in the grandest sense beyond this world, it also wasn’t his idea in consciousness. For his true consciousness is One. And in One, there is nothing to violate itself. Thus, projecting anything negative would be an impossibility.
We learned the impossible. And now we must return to knowing the only possibility: One Love. One Life. One Consciousness.
