Open Out A Way
All you will ever need is right here at the center of you. All good, all idea, all expression, all love—closer to you than breathing, nearer than hands or feet.
We so often reach outside of ourselves for our life, our good, our work...but there comes a point in our experience where we see that that which is outside is either running out, in short supply, or simply not what we bargained for. It just doesn’t fulfill us.
Where then is our life, our good? To know requires touching that place inside that comes before any thought of the world. You will find their infinite being—the source of infinite idea and infinite good. To experience it only requires pouring out what we have in this moment into expression. We must not withhold one ounce of our good. In giving, you release your gifts, you paradoxically receive them in giving them, as giving makes you aware that you have them. From there, our world expands because we expand the idea of our Self in our experience.
Perhaps it’s a phone call to say I love you, maybe it’s a piece of writing you’ve longed to pen, or maybe it’s a garden you yearn to plant or a song you want to sing. Perhaps it’s a business you’ve thought to create, a new arrangement of your home, or an activity you’ve longed to try and just haven’t gotten around to it. Pour out, and your fount will never run dry.
Infinity is yours. Infinity of idea, experience, and expression. As the mystical poet Robert Browning wrote in the 1800s: There is an inmost centre in us all, where truth abides in fullness; and… to know rather consists in opening out a way whence the imprisoned splendor may escape, than in effecting entry for a light suppose to be without.
